Residence Inn by Marriott Topeka

As always, the employees at Residence Inns are excellent! This location is close to many places to eat and shop. You can tell that this facility is older and the doors to the rooms could definitely use some paint...lol, but overall I'm enjoying my stay.

I was incredibly impressed with this Residence Inn. From the lobby to the room — everything felt well-maintained and thoughtfully set up. After a long day on the road, it was such a relief to walk into a clean, comfortable space that actually felt cared for. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. As a Bonvoy member, receiving a handwritten welcome note along with a small refreshment gift was an unexpected and touching surprise. It’s rare to experience that kind of personal touch at a hotel, and it made a noticeable difference in how at-home I felt. Amenities were great, the room was quiet and well-equipped, and the stay overall exceeded expectations. I would absolutely stay here again — and recommend it to anyone traveling through Topeka.

Good spot. I was her for 13 days on a job. Good breakfast variety, clean rooms and good staff. If you can deal with road noise through the windows, ask for an even numbered room!

I would recommend it, especially if you’re looking for a place to stay as you travel on I-70! Standard Marriott experience. The rooms are large and clean, but a little dated. Love how our room had a full kitchenette. Friendly staff. Good breakfast, nice pool/gym/hot tub. Outdoor basketball court is a nice touch!

Clean room no stains or smells. This was a studio king with sofa and it’s actually a full sectional. Full kitchen, small dining table and full sized desk…plenty of room for comfort and multiple guests. Location not great and the $100 pet fee is more than the usual $50-70 I’ve paid. Got room for $100 though so great value.

I stay here frequently, primarily due to staff competence and location. This is an older facility and it is looking tired. Conversely, it is very clean and everything works. It is nice having a full size refrigerator with automatic ice maker in the room. My stays here are a bit like an old shoe, very comfortable, does the job, but the shiny new-look has become a thing of the past. In short, I stay here by choice, on a regular basis.

We stayed here recently and experienced a very unfortunate/unusual event. The fire alarms went off at 1:30 am. Fortunately there was not a fire and it was a false alarm. Unfortunately the alarm system had completely malfunctioned and the staff, despite their desperate acts to figure it out, was not able to be shut off for more than a few minutes. I commend the staff for their efforts, as one may expect there isn't an off switch so they can "just turn them off." We ended up leaving at 3:30 and traveling the last few hours early in the morning but the kids did get some sleep in the car. We did receive a full refund, no questions asked and a very nice email from management following up with the situation. There were a lot of factors that were simply out of the staffs control, yet they did everything they could to fix it, but they couldn't hide the look of helplessness. My heart sank when the fire chief said "I have no idea what is going on, you might have been hit by lightning (yes it was storming outside as well). Quite the deal but again the staff did everything they could which is all one could expect. 5 stars across the board - we will be back in Topeka this hotel will be at the top of the list. Yes it is older and could use a freshening up but staff makes the stay.
